So I purchased a new Marathon Motor for my EFM. Last year in April the motor that has been running for 11 years popped the thermal overload. I pushed it in and ran the rest of the heating season without issue. But being the maintenance type guy I am I decided it was time for a new one. I purchased the recommended Motor from Marathon which I am pretty pleased with the motor I am removing from service from Marathon also.
My Question is this motor has on the sticker, "Permanently Lubricated Ball Bearing"
And the fill holes are not drilled into the housing like my previous Marathon Motor.
Just want to be sure I do NOT have to lubricate this new motor like my older one? I read the small instructions that came with the motor and they also led me to believe this was the case.. Thanks for your input!

Got the new "lube-Less" motor installed today. Very easy, like 30 minutes I guess to change it out. Only item I would personally note is the motor is just a tick louder by my ear than my previous motor. It may sound different under load and running the auger also, we shall see... FWIW... Thanks

My father in law's motor installed in 1964 is still going strong too. He has aquired spares from several people that have removed their 520's in favor of oil over the years... He should be good if it ever quits...franpipeman wrote: ↑Thu. Oct. 17, 2019 5:15 pmI beleive i still have the original motor from my 1953 fitzgibbons efm boiler stoker.
