Great stuff! I can't imagine how awesome it would be to see a 260 run non stop with a full load on it, I bet it would burn even the ash up! Just my 130 is impressive- I can't imagine double the power! I wonder if there are any businesses out there that have two of them online to where one gets very regular constant use and the other is just a supplement

It'd be pretty easy to run a pair in parallel to keep them both busy. It would take a pretty massive heat load, like a school building or the like.

I hope I didn't mislead anything... this boiler will not run nonstop with my heat load, it just cycles a few minutes longer. We had a crazy cold spell just before Christmas and my furnace fan never shut off but the boiler would still cycle on and off! That's all I could ever ask however I am toying with the idea of tearing out the concrete of my patio and pouring new with snow melt installed. I thought about it at the time we first poured it but at that time I was burning corn and that boiler did not have the capacity. I know this boiler would do it!Retro_Origin wrote: ↑Sat. Would like to note that now the boiler is running as intended, my ash pans are lighter and full of clinkers!

Oh no Shane that's exactly what I'm talking about. If these boilers laugh at typical house loads imagine a scenario where it would run constant is my point, also snowmelt systems require very high btu per square foot. I think over 150 in most cases but I'd have to double check my siggy book.

There used to be someone on here with a 260 hooked up to snowmelt, he said it put the boiler on its knees. You have to use a bypass loop to keep the boiler from running with excessively low return temperatures.Retro_Origin wrote: ↑Mon. I have every intention of putting in a small amount of snow melt around the new garage, including the sidewalks, can’t wait to see if my 260 will actually work a little

I'll try to look in my book and see what the rates were. Ever try to use a torch to melt snow? Goes so slow! That latent heat I believe! If you want to put a load on it! Just run a pipe to the neighbors and tell them you'll supply their heat at a cheap flat rate!hotblast1357 wrote: ↑Mon. Yes I've tried one of those big propane torches and you're right, it barely does anything. What really works amazing is hot waer. I have a hot water garden hose hookup on the house that's pure hot water..... I use my boiler to heat the hot water with no anti-scalding valve so that water is HOTT! You would not believe how much the water cools off before it comes out of the end of the hose. The hose should get so hot that it burns me but it doesn't but it sure melts ice!Retro_Origin wrote: ↑Mon. Jan. 23, 2023 8:19 pmI'll try to look in my book and see what the rates were. Same here, I use it to feed my electric pressure washer, works great!swyman wrote: ↑Mon. Hi guys (and gals), finally started up my boiler but managed to slightly bend my fan shaft. I had a spare boiler sitting in my shop so I figured I'd just install the whole assembly, fan, rear plate, box and shaft and noticed it had a bracket on top of the bearing box that bolts to the rear plate (pic attached). I shimmed it correctly and hooked it up and man is it nice and rigid..... but in a conversation with lightning, he thinks that may be a shipping bracket so I need to post this up for clarification. My Hydro-Stat digital aquastat died on me last season so being cheap and very impressed with these Inkbird controllers, I added one to replace the aquastat and so far I really like it!
