Although this is a slow time on this board I still wanted to start this process...

This applies to all stokers, be they forced air or boiler...

Presently constructing a Auto-Restart Timing Device to allow a easily implementation of a Pause Time Interval to auto- restore operation of stoker or feeder as a last line of defense for any chance of forgetting to do so manually.

How much time do you need for a Temporary Stoker Pause to do your ash pan or other typical duties before a Automatic Re-start?
Keep in mind the maximum time duration before losing the fire on the grates, as the Pause must not exceed a recoverable fire time frame.

It is my hope that the time interval would largely be a "one size fits all" and be pre-set at the time of assembly/ before mailing out to user...we'll see... ;)

FYI: This device also has a built in means to conveniently cancel the timer count down manually at any time to allow to immediately resume Normal Operations of stoker, this feature provides for a shorter cycle when desired, but otherwise by default will run out the full timer cycle.

I voted but forgot to ask about it.

One question MG, if I may... where in the wiring will this be installed? Is it as simple as anywhere between the power feed and the stoker motor?

At any rate, I am more than interested. I’m certain I have lost at least 4 fires through the years from being a weenie by flipping the switch and forgetting to turn it back on.

I very rarely turn mine off for service, but occasionally I wish I could push a button and make the stoker run a minute or so to clear the fines.

That could be done easily with a simple mechcanical spring wound timer, as used for a bathroom fan timer...there are other electronic timers as well.
