Just a quick update... The new timer is still working great. No out-fires this summer and just a few over temp dumps. Timing is still rock solid with T1 on for 52 seconds and T2 off for 9 minutes and 59 seconds.

thanks for sharing. put the parts in my amazon shopping cart for the future boiler rebuild/install.
when i lived at the shop in newtown and had the efm af-150 that would have been great. all i had was a paragon hour timer on that stoker... it would run 8 minutes an hour to keep the fire lit. at the time all the proper timers that i knew about were over 200 dollars.

I think you'll like it once you start using one... It is pretty versatile with infinite adjustability between .1 seconds and 100 days. Mine is still working perfectly.lincolnmania wrote: ↑Sat. One year update...
I'm calling this one a success. One full year of constant use and the solid state timer is still working perfectly. No issues whatsoever. If your Intermatic starts acting up, this one is a great replacement.

*UPDATE*
Two years of constant use with zero issues. This is one of the best changes to my system.

Nice install... The horizontal placement of the DIN rail looks great with the single cable coming in.Scott in nwct wrote: ↑Thu. Apr. 01, 2021 3:29 pmDitto, same here, 1st full season works perfectly. Great design nepacoal ! Scott.

looks like this timer has it's own mounting tabs that snap out from the back, so i would not need the bus bar?

No, you'll need the Din rail... those red things are spring loaded tabs to hold onto the rail. I saw a blue Din rail kit on Amazon yesterday for $12.78.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HU7YNX0/ref=cm_sw_r_ ... UTF8&psc=1
The DIN rail i purchased had a 10 slot press fit tie rail. I just used side cutters to cut off 2 slot pieces to tie the terminal blocks together for each color wire (3 groups, see little red rectangles in middle of the blocks). For my Keystoker, it was just white to white, black to black, and red to red.

the mechanical timer is running. failure on my part. the neutral wire was not connected!
i might just order one of these and keep it for a backup.

I bought a backup timer and another DIN rail set. That way I could replace mine if needed and have a complete setup for our EFM 520 over at my father in law's... He uses a 57 year old timer like yours...lincolnmania wrote: ↑Mon. Jun. 07, 2021 11:26 amthe mechanical timer is running. failure on my part. the neutral wire was not connected!

Hey Nepa, I'm in the process of setting up the wiring for the Bairmatic and I'm going your timer route. How is it wired to your Hydrostat? I"ll have a Hydrostate as well and a dumpzone, I'm having trouble following the EFM 520 schematic on another thread. Thanks

My Keystoker has a dump zone so it would be wired differently than an EFM. For an EFM type setup without a dump zone, I'd wire this way:
A1 - 120v hot leg
A2 - 120v neutral leg
15 - 120v power (most use a jumper from A1)
18 - NO contact that gets power from 15 when activated. This is wired to ZR on your triple aquastat. Using ZR, the timer will not fire the stoker above high limit.
With a dump zone, you can wire 18 to B1

I have not had good luck with the Hydrostat aquastats. 4 failures, 1 overheated boiler, and one other with the circulator running nonstop due to a failed relay. I am convinced the relays on the Hydrostat controls are the weak link, as I have talked to a few guys that used them with external relays for the stoker motor and did not have any issues. I suggest doing the same, or using a different control entirely.BunkerdCaddis wrote: ↑Tue.
