The thermostat terminals are for a steam application. You won't use them.

Run power to the timer, and run the switched power from the timer to the ZR terminal in the aquastat.

*RM*, Did or will you wire in a high limit safety, if timer or aquastat were ever to get 'stuck' you wouldn't have a 'run away' boiler...

If you have one wired in, then you only need to test if it is working. :)

That L6006 mentioned on the first page would make a good high limit control.

No i dont dont a high limit stop the 6006 is a low temp stop in case of an outfire should i change it, i thought the aquastat would shut it down at the hi limit.

A run-away boiler is not Stopped by the aquastat high limit when timer sticks or that aquastat hi limit fails closed...

Out-fire low temp Breaks on a temp DROP
Run-away high temp Breaks on a temp RISE

Set-points for both are at opposite ends of the spectrum...very different requirements of any single L6006 or the like...pick what's important to you...nuisance out-fire or a catastrophic run-away...

Randy, if you have a good chimney, the chance of that EFM going out is pretty slim...and an ash pan full of coal is an inconvenience rather that a safety issue. I suggest using the L6006 you already have as a separate high limit control.

Watch eBay for a good deal on a L4006B or another L6006 to add as an outfire control at a later date. Once in a while you can get a nice one for $50 or so.

Just keep in mind that the high safety can only be the Break on temp Rise type aquastat...if the current L6006 has 3 terminal screws you're good to just move the one wire...if it where the L4006 with only the 2 terminal screws it cannot be made to work as a high safety.

L4006A breaks on rise, and would be fine for a high limit safety, but not an outfire control...for that, the "B" version is needed.
