Just follow the directions...

i did follow the directions, i used it on the other wall where the coal stove and the coal bin sit in 2017 and it is holding up great. My friend and i got the first coat on the other wall yesterday and we also sistered up some 2x8 floor joists to the old ones to make the floor less bouncy. have to put on the second coat of masterseal 583 tomorrow. pooped out today.

my friend wanted to go to washington DC to visit some family so i took him there today. just got back about an hour ago. my friend has most of what he owns in his backpack, he completed the appalachian trail august 9th and got a ride to my place a few days later. he was a great help! he's planning on hiking the pct next year and is headed out west this fall to work for the winter then start hiking again next spring.

this month i got 9 windows to install, A porch to install soffit on, and i need to get the coal boiler and get it in the basement and hooked up. i also want to get rid of the bilco door and build a breezeway with a full size door over the cellar steps. need to get that outside stuff and the windows done this month. mom hired a contractor to replace the 22 squares of siding and the soffit (everywhere but the porch. i'm gonna do the porch soffit myself)

there will be lots of questions in this thread soon. i have two of dans books, still not sure what i'm doing lol

woke up this morning with the goal of changing the kitchen window.
the whole back wall is rotted out, i have to remove the patio door and then figure how to change about 10 foot of the joist end on the house without removing the deck. black ants everywhere and mouse damage. had to toss the insulation. going to do a rig job at best. not removing both decks from the house. going to slip in a new pressure treated 2x10 or whatever of it i can fit. then go in the crawl space and put pressure treated 2x10's between the floor joists 2 deep then bolt the deck to the pressure treated 2x10's with some 8" timber screws.
then i can start sistering up new 2x6 wall studs , i will cut out the damaged portions.
i also found some mouse damaged wiring, have to replace that.
i don't care about the cost or if it is correct use or not, i bought all pressure treated lumber and pressure treated plywood. it's always gonna have the chance of getting wet because of the upstairs deck.

anyone know what i can flash around the deck with? pretty sure this new pressure treated lumber eats aluminium.
maybe some self adhesive rubber (like an ice barrier for a roof?

this is going to set me back. changing the windows was needed tho. they are falling apart. only 8 to go lol.

Terne Metal is what pro roofers use for quality cost effective flashing material.

still replacing rotted windows and framing and sheathing on the house.

this was my kitchen wall.

the first floor of the back of the house is done.
much more rot up on the second floor wall below the window. the sheathing turned to dust.


i gotta go see steve when i get a chance, he's getting a efm 350 ready for me.

wherever the wall was ripped open i replaced the nasty mouse ridden fiberglass insulation with roxul.
i don't think i will ever use fiberglass insulation again!

oh and i fixed the joists the right way, no cutting pieces and fitting them, i jacked up the deck and cut the ledger board off and fixed the framing on the house and repaired the walls, then added a new deck ledger and flashing and reattached the deck joists to the ledger, it worked fine.

dining room windows are installed. i just need to put the sticky flashing around them. should have ordered two slightly narrower windows for that opening, had to cut the nailing flanges back where the two windows meet.

Keep up the good work! Amazing what "passes" sometimes, then the results we have to deal with down the road
