Don't laugh...
Friends commercial building had a fire and needed to be totally rebuilt...
Old building cost $23,000 to complete in 1970...
Permits for new building in 2009...
$27,000...
Just the permits...
Same footprint...

1200 foot of 1/2" pex-al-pex ordered (badger pipe) $312
one 4 port manifold for pex-al-pex ordered. (supply house) also got a pressure test kit $176
pex-al-pex reamer $12 (amazon)
1" insulated pex-al-pex ordered. got 100 foot for $375 shipped. (ebay)

i also have 200 amp service going in april 18th.
and i have the 2 gauge wiring to run 100 amp service to the shop. need to get conduit and fittings.

still need to get thermostat cable and 3/4" pex for a cold water line, and phone wiring, cable tv, cat5 cable and conduit for that. might as well run it all while i have a trench dug... right?

Cat 6 not cat 5 same price...
All those wires go in conduit...

cat 6 in separate conduit...

Does it matter if CAT 6 is in PVC or Steel conduit?

i'm going to run pvc conduit.....2.10 a stick for the 1/2"
the electrical wiring is going into 1.5" pvc electrical conduit.
gonna have to use the van to get the conduit.....both my antique trucks are protesting.....toyota needs a complete suspension rebuild and new bushings and control arms (frame fine, all 4 front control arms rotted out) the f-250 is losing fluids. i used a quart of oil and 2 quarts of coolant in 20 miles lol. i got new suspension parts for the yoda and a used engine out of a 01 explorer for the f-250.

1/2 inch is too small...
1 inch is best...
Underground in PVC...
Ethernet should also have an air gap device at both ends...
Different ground potentials...

Run several 1” conduits, never have enough, run string in them so you can pull something through it later, my 3 wire power is all in 2” pvc, and that was hard enough to work with, I ran the wire all out, and then pull the piped over it one at a time.

===================================================================================================

For surface use/above ground either type can used but in direct burial the PVC schedule 80 is what the code calls for at least it did 9 years ago.

If you do not have a PVC heater box to heat the conduit for bends you will need PVC pipe welded/glue/solvent weld elbows to make the transition and right angle elbows with the removable access plates to use wire snakes or nylon twine and pig balls or wadded paper to launch the nylon twine with a blower to the opposite end. If you have a blower on one end and vacuum on the opposing end that will help launch the nylon twine in the conduit.

If you go to the electrical supply shops they usually have the things you need to use a vacuum or a blower to launch the nylon twine. If you have a good GREENLEE wire snake long enough for the job and a tub of wire lube to slick up the wire ends you will not have to worry about damaging the insulation sheathing surrounding the wires.
They may have a conduit heater that you can rent too and that will help you speed the installation along quickly.
If you do not have it already a load of sand to bed the conduit in is always a good practice to protect the conduit runs.

Always plan on an extra conduit in any trench just in case and be sure to have the conduit plugs to seal them so the wire can pass through the plugs and keep out any vermin or water condensation.

Cat 6 is low voltage...
At least here in the liberal land of MA...
Cat 6 does not need sch 80...
Coax for cable is run in light weight coils...

Always bury a spare conduit...
Make sure it drains or has a sump you can get a vacuum to...
