For the hats or chairs to raise the mesh off the foam you could buy concrete bricks and bust them in half to set the wire mesh on...tie wire the brick halves if concerned of getting mesh kicked off the bricks during the pour.

This supplier may have pieces and parts (hats) you are looking for https://www.thermosupply.com/

I would run at least 2 sets of thermostat wires. If one has a problem you just switch to the other. No digging involved.

The pipe that you gave the link to looks like it is domestic water pipe, not heating system pipe. It says nothing about an oxygen barrier or temp rating.

thanks.

it is listed as oxygen barrier pipe, i copied this from the page.

"Pre-insulated Wirsbo hePEX™ features oxygen-barrier PEX pipe encased in polyethylene-foam insulation to meet ASHRAE 90.1-2013 energy-code requirements for hydronic piping and radiant heating/cooling applications. The piping is approved for direct burial in soil provided it is not exposed to groundwater. Uponor recommends adding 1/2" of insulation to accommodate for foam compression in direct-burial applications."

the other insulated pipe from outdoor furnace supply is cheaper if i make a large order, but if it is under $850 the truck freight for the insulated pipe is $150.

Got all my insulated pex from badger insulated...only complaint I have is the 1" compression fittings going to Mt in floor manifold...I'm going to change that out to copper... The 1/2" pex for the floor...think got from either them or supply house...can't remember which was cheaper..got 1000 foot roll. Better to have more than not enough...I payed mine out on 1/4" graph paper so I knew what I needed..can't run longer than 300 ft runs in the floor...get the mixing valve for the heat...in slab sensor I think 4 port manifold...but I could be wrong...maybe 6 port...supply house has by far the best prices on full port valves...Badgers branded pumps are comparable to the Grundfos 26-99 but shop around..guy in NC has them for $150 shipped. As others have said get the wire mesh...or if u have boatloads of $$$$ the fancy plastic grids to snap pex into......don't forget the plastic under the insulation. My heated portion of my pole barn is 30x32 with 13' high ceilings....

Also get the pex-al-pex. It's true size diameter...and while it can be a pain to use once you bend it it stays bent...makes it nice when you're laying it out

Sorry I need to read through all this...but do NOT try and put the pex into 4" pvc....get the stuff already wrapped and in the corregated pipe...and then put that in 6" S&D pipe...or pony up for logsol brand at $15+/ ft

Btw...my boiler is located on an added furnace room to my pole barn/ garage that runs 130 ft to the house into 20 plate flat plate HX for domestic he and then onto a 50plate HX forheating the house while keeping the oil furnace in place as a back up..then back to the furnace room using primary secondary (I think)to floor with it's own zone pump

I know your plate is full going forward and extras take even more time and more money so prioritize to get the baseline items done and then regroup after the dust settles and re-prioritize whats left to get things to a usable state before the heating season swings in...

Time to order rough in supplies. badger pipe and supply house.

some suggested i use pex al pex in the slab, it's not much more than oxygen barrier pex and supposedly holds the bends easier.

and the insulated pex.....3 line five wrap, two 1" pipes and one 3/4" pipe.

going to order a 3 loop manifold from supply house.

sound about right?

using the 1" so i could put the boiler out there in the future if needed, wouldn't 3/4" be a bit small if it had to supply the house in the future? i know the radiant floor will only use like 3/4 gal a min.

U can leave the 3/4” domestic line in the badger setup it’s fine.

I went with the 1/1/4” pex OB with a 3/4” domestic line, 5 wrap in there plastic piping.

I use the black iron manifolds from houseneeds.com.

I used three sites for pretty much all my setups,
Badgerinsulatedpipe.com
Supplyhouse.com
Houseneeds.com

Only stuff I bought local was like 10’ sections of 1/1/2” black iron that come off my boiler.

I’m on my second winter with badgers pump that comparable to the grundfos 15-58, been without a glitch.
