I am in the process of taking over my fathers house and property as he is now in long term care. He now has a Alternate Heating Systems Coal Gun Boiler S130 with an auger.

I will not be using the coal boiler and would like to sell it locally but I have no idea on its worth. It is approximately 4-5 years old and has not been used for the past 2 winters or so. It appears to be in great shape and would need to be removed from the exterior steel building that it is currently in.

Please let me know what you know about this particular boiler.

The boiler is located in East Meredith, NY if that helps with the pricing.

Thanks in advance for any information that you may be able to send my way.

Your asking price will partly be dependent upon whether or not it is UL listed, and in addition, whether or not it has an ASME "H" stamp.

AHS makes them without UL and/or without ASME certifications, and sells them accordingly at lower overall price. A price premium is applied to the Coal Gun's which have both of these two pedigrees.

Maybe call AHS with your model number and get a price for a new 1. Then work backwards from there.

Depends if you want to move it fast or get top dollar.
$ 1500- $2500 if you want to move it fast.
$ 3500 - $ 5000 if you want to sit on it forever.

Stoker Coal Boiler: Axeman-Anderson Anthratube 130-M

That’s a really nice set-up. AHS Coalgun is a really good automatic stoker boiler and you have a really nice coal bin and auger feed. Your dad did a wonderful job. My two cents would be to use it. Heating with a coal boiler, especially with that set-up, is EASY. It will also save you about 40% compared to heating oil and pellets, and much more compared to propane, it is quite literally the cheapest way to heat, even compared to wood. I heat my 2400 sq foot living space, garage, and most of our domestic hot water on five tons annually, currently about $1100 where I am. I have basically the same boiler but it’s made by Axeman-Anderson.

Sell if you want but it would be a waste of your father’s fine efforts. If you are worried that you can’t do it because you aren’t “handy”. This forum will guide you if you ask. These guys love to help because ANTHRACITE IS GREAT! It’s cheap, plentiful, and cleaner than bit coal. It is only marginally more dirty than fuel oil if you are concerned about the environment.

Let us know why you aren’t going to use it! We’ll straighten you out! 😆

Add about $1,500 to these prices if it has UL listing and an ASME 'H' stamp. And add another $750 if the feed auger system is being sold along with it.

Seems a "One And Done" has occurred... Perhaps, just maybe,at 5 Grand, coupled with Faceless Book,it will reside for a bit longer where Dad had it.. From the looks of things,Dad got it right!! God Love 'Em!!
