Burning Lehigh buck in a kaa-4. Probably the best case scenario for ash as it was ideal conditions to burn a lot of coal with no long timer cycles. Temperature in the teens with 20 to 40 mph winds.
21.66 lbs of ash / 148.72 lbs Lehigh buck = 14.56%
KAA-4 ash percentage

Ashes look great - how does your fire look during those long burns? Totally burned ashes are nice, but not if you have to use a bunch of extra combustion air to do it.

Fire looks great with it turning to all ash right at or just past the last set of holes. Over fire draft is at -.02. Here's a pic of the fire after only a 20 minute run. The fire will move down another inch or inch and a half on a longer run. I get very small clinkers on occasion but I can crush them to dust with my hand. I'll try to get a new pic after a long run.
