Every year I de-lime the DHW coil in my KA2. But I was wondering yesterday if it matters if the bolier is running or should it be done on a cold boiler?
Thanks!

Heat makes the acid more aggressive, so it will save you some time.

Do you use red wine vinegar, white vinegar or a chemical acid to delime your coil?

I heat up a cup of white vinegar in my microwave to scrub It clean of any spatter and it really works.

White vinegar. I have a small pump set up just for this purpose.

Vinegar is diluted to 5% acid.

Only for those whom know and understand how to work safely with strong acids...Muriatic acid can be diluted to do the job.

Cheaply bought where ever swimming pool chemicals are sold.

Using white vinegar the way you do it is very safe. I no longer use the coil on my KAA-1 as it leaks.
