Hello if you were to install a new hand fed Coal Boiler what brand name would you pick? It must have the H stamp& UL rating for my Insurance Co. Thanks.

If I was forced to return to hand-firing and had the $ to buy new, it would be this boiler: http://efmheating.com/index.php/efm-wood-coal-boiler

Is there a particular reason you are looking at hand fed boilers instead of stokers?

FYI - you can get a very nice refurbished stoker boiler for less money than a new hand fed (usually 1/2 the cost).

Stoker Coal Boiler: Formerly AA-130

An ahs s130 also has a smaller foot print since it's not bin fed if that is what your meaning by layout.

Ahs also has a line of hand feds, the wc40ve, and can get the stamp for extra. If your set on hand fed, that's probably one of the cheapest price wise new options.

I thought I was set on hand fed. Glad I didn't do it.I'm slowly In the process of getting a stoker. Lots of nice ones, watch Stoker Don's youtube videos. Pacowy and others frequently sell refurbs and are very knowledgeable.
