I had been putting off installing an hour meter I bought a few months ago because it needed a hole cut in a box to mount it flush. I had planned (hoped) on mounting it to my timer door but it required too much depth to fit. I found this surface mount timer "used" on Amazon for $18. It was new in the box with .12 minutes on it that I assume were from the factory test. It must have been a returned item. Surface mounted it to the right of my triple aqua-stat and connected it to the B1/B2 terminals. Works great so far. FYI, I burn 6.5 lbs per hour in my kaa-4 (measured over a few days and 280 lbs weighed with a digital scale).

There are 5 models from surface to rail mount...

Nice! I need one of these for my fan motor, and one for my ashing motor.

Connecting an hour meter to B1 can give you incorrect readings under certain circumstances. If you have a HI Limit wired in to keep the stoker motor from running when the boiler temp is over the HI Limit, the hour meter will continue to run even though the motor is not. The meter should be connected directly to the same wires that go to the motor. This will ensure that the stoker motor and the hour meter always run at the same time.

I understand that Don... Most EFM 520's are wired to not use the timer above high limit. A Keystoker relies on a dump zone since the fire would go out if it skipped a timer cycle. Fire goes out in 15 to 20 minutes. B1/B2 is correct for my setup.

Thanks, Good to know that Keystoker came up with that solution.

Yes, my boiler came with an l4006b aquastat for the dump zone and the aquastat and timer were pre-wired to never skip timer cycles.

I thought was neat. It senses vibration instead of needing to be wired in..

The belts on the Axe do create some vibration. I'm thinking it could be strapped on to the motor.

I'm failing to see where it works on vibration.

I assume it counts time while whatever its strapped to is running. Its triggered by vibration..

Ah, I see what happened. My blockers killed your attachment, so I presumed that you were talking about the OP's timer. I killed the blockers and your timer suddenly appeared.

My blockers are hammering 4 items on this page. And 7 On another page of this forum.

Not bad considering that I've been on web pages where 400-500 trackers and other things were being blocked.
