I asked on another post about a glass door bon my KA2. Wondering how involved it would be to fabricate one? My nephew has all the welding equipment.
So your advice would be great!

Should be simple. Cut the opening in the door, weld a couple of studs inside the door to add strips to hold it in place. Use high temp to seal.

Use some gasket material to hold glass on place to tighten the strips.

Make sure it is proper glass for the heat. How large a window do you want?

i made a door out of plate for a wood burner . door are difficult subject to warping and losing seal. without severe reinforcement , Look at existing door and see how much reinforcement are on them I would take it as a serious task.

There are a few people on this forum that have made fire view doors. I suggest you do a search, that way you can see how several different people tackled this question.

I believe my door is a cast door and his door should be identical to mine so hacking and wacking at it would really be a bad idea due to the insulation block in the door and the locking tab on the boiler wall as the door mechanism and spring attached to it would create an issue with the glass placement and the glass would be in place of the insulation block.

The other thing is the issue with the sensor tube hole for the manometer there is no other location for one other than the flue pipe at the flue breech.
