If the seals are leaking due to age, the NOS one may not be any better.
I would call Ohio gear and see if you can just get the seals. If not, they may have a part number that your local bearing shop can cross reference.
If all else fails, clear the gearbox up really well and bring it to your local bearing shop. They should be able to figure out what you need.

I have a Euclid gear box not an Ohio. I did contact Euclid and the seals are available for my gear box from Euclid. I know these gear boxes are no longer available from AA and I believe it is a fairly expensive upgrade if the box fails. that is why I was thinking of getting the NOS Ohio.

A new old stock Ohio Gear unit for a hundred bucks? In my opinion, if you can spare the cash, it would be good insurance to have it on hand. On just about all old stokers, the gearbox is the one thing that will put you out of business when it breaks.

Coldsweat are the shafts "keyed" or are they plain 1/2" shafts? The description from the seller is not keyed 1/2".coaledsweat wrote: ↑Tue. Dec. 04, 2018 8:26 amI've got DOX. And what the hell is Ohio Gear doing in South Carolina?

I'll look when I get home. I think they are keyed though, or should be. About 2:00.

It appears the chain sprocket shaft is keyed and the V belt pulley shaft is not.
