3/4" copper should be fine. It will give that Taco something to push against, and should prevent you from overwhelming the boiler.

Make sure you report back when you get it installed.

Sure will. I'll also give an injury report. The water heater weighs 550 lbs! I should have jumped on that $500 Lectrotruck when I had the chance.
