No sight glass or any other controls on it when I got it. It was completely removed and disassembled. From the replies here and some reading on the form im guessing it was set up for steam. Once I get it apart this weekend I'm going to take a grinder and flap disc to it and see how it looks. If it's just the one area that's bad I'll cut it out and replace if it's more hopefully I can find another tank

Before you get carried away removing it, put a whole large box of black pepper in it, fill the water back up and fire it up, I had a small leak in my old EFM 700 and tried this trick and to my amazement it worked.
A local boiler welder told me to try it, that was 4 years ago and it was still holding pressure when I took it out of service last spring. I know this sounds crazy but it worked.

This would most likely seal the leak. I had a tube leaking about 4 years ago and used it as a temp. fix and it's still holding up. I did lose a pump which was most likely from the sealant. There are specific instructions on how to use it. The boiler has to be cold when you add it and then start a fire to warm it up. When the sealant seeps through the crack it will seal when it hits air. Just don't know if it will hold for long being right over the fire. I would at least try it until you locate a new boiler.

I posted this (local to me) find a couple of days ago. Not sure if it is helpful or in the price range. Probably negotiable based on age.

So I picked up a couple of bottles of the oatey sealer this morning. Just got it fill up and burning. It has gone from a stream of water to hardly dripping at all. It's just coming up to temp now so we will see what happens when it's up to full temp and pressure. I messaged Scrapper and hopefully he will have a tank or know of one but if this sealer can get me through untill I can get a new tank it would be awesome. If I get a replacement tank I can clean this one up and weld it for a back up this summer.
Some pics. First one is just as I dumped the sealer in. It dumped right on top of the hole. Next one is now that it has stopped dripping and the last is just because I was happy to see it burning again!

If the boiler is solid I don't see why that can't be weled on site. You could raise the boiler, sneak the base out from under it, then lower it onto blocking. If you don't mind disconnecting the piping, you could lower the boiler down and lay it on its side.

I would think that could be welded up real easy , wire wheel the heck out of it and lay a couple short beads each side and down the middle and call it a day ,

I tried the sealer and pepper and it's has slowed considerably but still get a drip occasionally. I think I'm just going to take it apart this weekend and grind it down so I know exactly whats wrong. With my luck the sealer will let go at 10 below while I'm out plowing and the wife is home alone. Better to take care of it now when it's in the 30's lol.
