I really do believe it’s just changing where the ash motor gets its power from, it needs to come from the combustion fan, not a big deal to change if it’s not currently wired like this. Save your money and we’ll cross that bridge when you get it home and see what it does..

On a side note, with a temp sensor on the bottom of the hopper, there’s pretty much no chance of a hopper fire.

The sky was not falling on me, I figure that if even after begging Keystoker to come up here they were unwilling to help me even after I offered to put them up in a hotel and pay for their meals they were still going to stick me for 75 dollars and hour plus travel time something is wrong with that picture.

I remember reading at least one account of a hopper fire in both a keystoker and an AHS unit.

Does your axeman unit still have 2 single aquastats?

With the sensor on the hopper it won’t happen.

From what I am hearing my 260 wont have mode 1 and 2,,, is mine going to be prone to the booms or exactly what is the mode 2? I will try to digest what you tell me , since my unit will not have a timer it has the thermocouple correct?
A quick call to AHS will answer a lot of your questions. Based on the serial number of your unit, they will be able to tell if any upgrades are available (or recommended).

That may have been forum member 'Yanchee' a long time ago. I believe he may have been the one who inspired AHS to install the snap switch on the bottom of the hopper. I think he turned his ashing switch off and forgot to turn it back on.

Thinking of this, if you must turn your ashing switch off in order to haul out the ash tub for emptying, please also turn the fan switch off. Then when the ash tub is back in place turn both switches back on.
