140 is what you have it set at?
Once it gets to 140 it stops ashing correct?
If you answered yes to both, it doesn’t matter.

Welcome to the forum.
I think H.B. is right, there is no spec on how thigh the ash temperature should go. You are ashing at 140 when the fan is running, drawing cool air over the temperature probe. Once the fan shuts off, the heat is no longer being drawn away from the probe.
Currently, with ashing of 140 mine will coast up to between 200 and 250 degrees after sitting for a while. -Don

Doesn't matter, and it can still keep changing the numbers as things get settled in.
There is no instant gratification with burn results...it takes a sizable investment of time and patience to get any gratification doing this.

I think the highest I ever saw was about 273 degrees. With my set-point at 105 degrees, the LC temperature read-out mostly sits at between 95 and 145 degrees for a well established fire.
The extremely rare times when I experience out-fires seem to be relatively closely preceded by ashing region temperature excursions into the mid 200's.
