I see you have the older B+G circulators, are these equipped with the spring tensioners to maintain contact with the circulator cartridge?

If the timer isn't working after you oil it throw it in out after you get it replaced I tried repairing one nothing like your wife waking you up at 2 am because it broke again when it was in the on position and the prv was dumping 200 degree water everywhere in the basement

That timer looks like it may be a Wil Burt Timer.
I wouldn't be tossing that one too quickly...maybe give it some TLC and get another decade out of it.
Intermatic are not so great but they do sell replacement clock/motors for +$30.00
