Ok so I recently bought a yellow flame boiler and am very new to stokers I’ve had a hand fired boiler which was a old sears homart and the back section cracked and could not be repaired but what I’m getting at is unfortunately the unit is all in 1 piece and the lady has no basement access so it has to come up 10-15 steps which is 1 issue but I was wondering if it comes apart anymore if I take the panels off I seen pics of someone’s that had been restored on here and looks the same as his but I didn’t see a lot of the ash box pics to how it went together or came apart any help or advice would be great as well as any operating tips also
Thanks to all

You may reach out to that other member you saw with the similar stove.
Just use the PM feature (private message) below his posted name where you were reading of this same stoker.

To my knowledge the Yellow Flame units are a one piece boiler & base, like a Keystoker. You can remove the hopper and stoker to reduce the weight a little, but that is all.

Check your local rental store for a stair climbing dolly as well. That will help get it up the steps. I use them when installing and removing boilers. Makes things a lot easier. Good luck!

Welcome Joe!

I hope yer gonna post some pictures. We don't get to see the mighty Yellow Flames very often.

To disassemble:
1) Remove all plumbing, wiring, aquastats.
2) Remove fire door and ash door.
3) Remove hopper and covers.
4) Remove stoker (4 bolts and a lot of furnace cement)
5) This is the heavy part, remove boiler from base (no bolts, just gravity).

You will have to be carful with one of these, they are HEAVY! If it is one of the smaller ones with 3 grates on the stoker, the boiler part alone is 900 pounds.

Good Luck!

Wow Joel that looks great. And you don't mess around, out of one basement and into yours, partly hooked up in one day is some serious progress!

The feed rate adjustment is on the side of the gearbox, move the shoulder bolt for more or less lever travel. The air adjustment is that half cover thing on the side of the blower, you may need to block that off a little more for Rice or Buckwheat coal.

The main ware parts are the grates, (they will eventually warp) and the coupler between the gearbox and motor. Mark's Supply carries both of these items. These things run great on Barley Coal, the cheapest coal there is, if you live near a breaker.

I just realized that I never made a Youtube Playlist of my Yellow Flame videos but now we have one.

There is only 3. I know I have at least one more, I guess I never uploaded it, I'll see if I can fix that.

Ok so I’m up and running but I’m having some issues with understanding exactly when it should kick on and off the small center aqua stat has no power with the multi meter and the larger one has power to the top and power on the b1 and b2 but nothing on the circulator pumps and it’s just keeping on running up past the high limit and not shutting off

The small aquastat is the HI Limit safety. This control should shut the stoker off even if everything else fails, set it to about 200.

The big aquastat should run on the LO Limit unless the thermostat (TT) terminals are shorted together, set at about 160. When a thermostat shorts the TT terminals together, this aquastat runs on the HI Limit setting, set at about 180.

The thing with the big dial is the timer. Make sure it is running and not stuck in the ON position. That could make the stoker run on.

Your feed rate is set at maximum (6). I would back it down 3 to start with.

Start counting from the center out and put it in the 3rd hole and for some reason it’s not shutting down at all timer sounds like it’s running but it’s not moving and the high limit Aqua has no power running to it at all

Am I better off to replace the timer switch or the intermatic switch idk if the switch would keep my high limit from getting power or not
