Hi,
I was cleaning my unit over the weekend and knocked off the plate inside above the fire pot with my wire brush by accident.
This is a flat piece of metal that deflects the heat to swirl around before going out thru the chambers and up the stack.
I do not have the hanging plates my plates are welded in. This is a 350 EFM with a date of 1966.
I managed to place it back, but before I fire it up can one of the EFM experts look at the picture to see if I have it placed properly. Both ends are notched and are hanging on some mounting bolts on the boiler walls. I've cleaned this boiler for years and replaced the worms myself but this has me perplexed. I'm a funeral director not a plumber. I managed to take a picture in this cramped space.
Thanks

Rob,
Thanks, you are correct. I wiggled it and now it's hanging properly. Starting a fire now. I'm glad I posted this. It didn't seem right.

His 350 only came with the plates welded in. The plates started hanging freely when the DF model came out.
