Greetings fellow board members,

My Fellow KAA-4-1 owners; I will be removing the oil burner and oil filter after I drain them in a few weeks and reinstalling the oil burner port cover plate and gasket to seal off the boiler as I will no longer be burning oil as my tank is empty and I see no reason to fill it anyway and I do not want to waste money on kerosene.
The fumes from start up on both oil and coal have been really bad as they leak through the oil burners air tube and the universal mounting flange and gasket so I am eliminating that from happening again. I had no trouble from the fumes entering the home when the burner port cover was left in place when we started burning coal in early 2015-16

Have any of you removed the baffle plate when running it on coal only?

The KAA-4-1 has a closed flue outlet with a steel box welded over the breech and it has a narrow 1" by 6" opening at the bottom of the weldment to allow combustion flue gas fumes to exit in to the flue pipe and then into the chimney.

Thanks much,

Leon
