Will be shutting down our boiler for a while. In the past there was a spray rust inhibitor that was recommended. I used it but can't find the can! And of course I can't remember what it was!
Would Fluid Film be a good product?
Open to suggestions.
Thanks!

I think WD-40 would be good for the summer...
Basically a lightweight oil spray...
Fluid Film would be for a longer decommissioning...
More of a thicker spray lanolin...

I don't think I have ever heard of anyone doing the spray thing on a stoker boiler. Not that it matters, you can't get to all the surfaces anyway. Just remove the stovepipe, cap off the flue and put a light bulb in it.

My typical procedure has been to remove the flue pipes and clean and put a light bulb inside. I also pull the hopper off and paint the inside with Rusty metal primer. But I have sprayed the interior. I think I will give the WR 40 a try this year.
Thanks!
