I’m new to the site and a new owner of a used keystoker boiler. So ofcourse I’ll have questions. Does anyone know the specifics on how to determine what model I purchased. It has 3 grates so I’m assuming it’s a k4 or a k6. Any input would help. Thanks

It should have a plate on it somewhere with some info. If you can post some pics that would be helpful.

Keystoker has great customer service and would be able answer all your questions. Just have the serial number from the plate located on the stoker unit ready when you call - (570) 385-3873

When you go to download the Manual look at the chart there on website that shows the physical dimensions of all their models. That will show you which one you have. Plate is tack welded on vessel under the the skin.

The ID plate is on the top of the steam jacket in the lower left corner.
I think you have a fire damaged KAA-6 or KAA8 by the looks of it.

According to the dimensions on keystoker site this is a k4. I still haven’t found an id plate though. What makes you think this has fire damage? I see no evidence of anything

It has some soot/discoloring over the fire door, but that is just aesthetic. The aquastat looks pretty rough, I would plan on new controls.

Congrats on your new purchase. Those Keystoker are rugged units.

It just needs a good cleaning. I will agree the controls look old and tired. I’ll be replacing that stuff for sure.

12684 is the serial number of your stoker. Keystoker can use that to tell you everything about it if it is original to the boiler

My Kaa-2 has 3 grates.... Of course, the physical size of your boiler is way too big to be a Kaa-2.
