I don't burn my AA year round.
I'm headed out to a local supplier to pick up some Lehigh Pea today so that I may test some for myself.

I'm running it now. Best ash I ever had out of my Axeman, zero unburned coal.

Let's open this up a bit. Is anyone besides me consistently running their coal boiler (any make/model) year round?

Is it possible that I'm the only one left on the forum who runs my coal boiler year round?

I plan on running my efm 520 all year. Doing dhw through an indirect fired hwh. You need to have a heat dump. I am installing a radiator in the second part of basement to dump heat off. This will also allow me to turn off dehumidifier. I use a second aquastat to turn on the circ pump if boiler goes above 220F while ideling, lowers temp to 180. Using a 60 second burn every one hour to keep fire.

I have no heat dump & never had issues with temps going up thru the roof. But, i constantly circulate & i turn the temp down during the DHW only months.bradludwig wrote: ↑Mon. That’s the difference, I am not constantly circulating. This unit was installed fall 2017 and is still in phase 1. Phase 2 and 3 will include constant circulation....if I live long enough.
