Need your opinion on a tube boiler, I've only sold one other one that I owned, I am buying and old 350 round front look to be I good shape it's a little dirty but from what you guys see does this look good to uses, my last 350 square boiler was a flop and it was a plate used for steam, this boiler was only used in hot water.

Another question I must ask is that the boiler is cold now and sitting with no water in it is there a chance that the tubes can leak

Hi Ryan, I had the same thoughts on a tube 700 EFM . Filled her up with water and left it with 50 lbs. of pressure for a few days.ryan20strohl wrote: ↑Sun. No issues . I drained it and put brass wool in the bottom fittings for dry storage.
Good luck with the 350 !

Air and water for your pressure test or all water

Ryan I used one port for a pressure gauge, one for a sniffter air valve, and filled it through the top opening. Then I capped it off and added the air with the sniffter valve. So almost all water.
Worked well.

Even if it leaks a little at the tube sheet when cold, if the tubes are sound at operating temps it may seal better. From pros I've talked with, it's important to focus on things that compromise the integrity of the tubes, like internal leaks, or corrosion of or physical damage to exposed tube ends.
Hope this helps.
