Monitor heat call?

Coal Size/Type: Anthracite Rice
Other Heating: Weil Mclain WGO-2 (Net 75k BTU)

Anyway to put a clock counter on your heating system to monitor how often and much your thermostat is calling for heat? My new honeywell wifi thermostat doesn't offer that.

Sure...just hook up an hour meter to the stoker motor, circulator, or whatever you want to monitor.

See pic attached. Simple 110 vac total run timer. Can connect in parallel with stoker motor. Grainger or online available. This one cannot be reset to zero but was free.

Hand Fed Coal Furnace: Harman SF3500 reduced down to 3 grates connected to its own plenum
Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood

You can get 24 volt counters also. They would be used to monitor individual zones.

I'm really wishing my WiFi thermostat would record this info for me. Looks like if I switched to Nest ($250) it would, but not my new Honeywell ($70).
