Thank you Qtown1835 I have notice a change I the draft I think that is because the chimney is colder, with your pin setup what are you getting for boiler temps. at idle I am wondering if I need to drop my cutout temp. from 190 to 180*f and then change my pin maybe start at two pins every 15 min. I am also thinking about changing my dump zone from 220 down to 210*f I have my shut down set at 230*f this will shut the power off to the boiler and has to be manually reset to start the boiler up again

Thanks M.M.

If i remember correctly i am 160/180 10*diff. During regular heat calls the boiler is usually around 160-165*. If we have a warm day or two like we just had, i will cover my baro with foil to pickup some draft. Boiler temps will climb to 190-205*. If you are constantly hitting your dump zone, i would back off the timer cycles. idea is to just keep it lit. response time will be slower but if you are not calling for heat it really does not matter.

**Edit** just checked my timer and I am running 3pins at 0, 10 & 20.

Thank you Qtown1835 I have my temp set at 160 190 with a 10 * diff. when it warmed up it was at 204 and climbing I started to get nervous so started to pull pins until the temp started to come down on its own now I am seeing temp. at about 168* but I think that is because me heat call is not like it was a week ago temps here are about 32* f this weekend I will try changing my pin configurations and see what happens

Thank you for your help

The old Keystoker timer was a 15 minute cycle and you could adjust the run time notch from about 45 seconds to about 2 and a half minutes. If you are only burning for heat in the colder months you can get away with a lot on the timer settings, if you burn yearlong for hot water the challenge is to keep a fire when it is in the 90s in July and August.

Thank you Gaw I have gone to 2 pins about every 14.5 min. it seems to be working I am not sure if I am going to burn during the summer yet I am going to install a new Indirect hot water heater the last one I had the coil rotted out I still have some time before I have to make that decision

Thanks again

Good evening every one .The keystoker is purring away and the house has never been as comfortable as it is now I think that I have it dialed in pretty good but I have noticed that I am getting some unburnt coal in the ashes I don't know if that is normal or do I need to make more adjustments to it here is some pictures of the ashes

Looks good. Trying to eliminate all signs of unburned coal is a fools errand. My tan ash will reveal black pieces after being exposed to rain.
