Stoker Coal Boiler: Gentleman Janitor GJ-5, Van Wert VA-600, Axeman Anderson130 X3.
Hand Fed Coal Furnace: Harman SF3500 reduced down to 3 grates connected to its own plenum
Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood

Today we got most of the other parts cleaned and painted.

Pot/air chamber and fan housing. I think we are going to leave the fan housing bare aluminum on this one.

I got some door gasket and ash ring gasket today. Its just about time to put it together!

Great job on that Van Wert. Unfortunately when I got mine 40 years ago it was a bargain because it didnt have a dog house. I insulated the old way with non asbestos wet insulation. Not pretty but works well. Yours is almost too nice to use!

One last look. Van Wert #2 is headed to it's new home in upstate New York as we speak.

It went in a small enclosed trailer so we had to lay the boiler on it's side. This was a good opportunity to get a pic up from the bottom to see how the boiler walls are laid out.
