I’m very eager to get my garage built to get a little more use out of this thing.

The garage will most deff put a good dent in it, unfortunately it’s going to eat more coal though lmao

- Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood
WOW, Neat!
You can actually see the full width of the fire.
Just an FYI. On my 130M I ran a poker down the boiler walls of the fire chamber. It felt like coal was actually stuck to the walls. I am hoping that the cleaning and poking will put an end to my un-burnt coal problem. Good luck on yours!

I did the same, I deff had some stuff stuck in the sides.
I’m anxious for sure, my coal consumption should drop also!! I’m at about 50 pounds per day right now, with 3.5 pounds of that for dhw. Was 24 this morning, currently at 28 outside.

Everything satisfied when I wasn’t looking lol in the shower.. so I have everything back on again. Was only off for like 15 minutes.
Just timed it, and with the 3 faucets we have, full blast hot, we’re using 3 gallons a minute. You can see there’s quite a spread in delta T across the plate exchanger.

I think we have a well established fire now.
All these temps are on speed 1 currently with the grundfos 15-58. House is very warm, along with septic tank it looks lol
Ash pan is dumped, this is what the forecast is, we’ll see what happens.

I’ve been a part of this forum for over 10 years plus... and I must say this is the first time I can remember someone opening the house up wide open and running all the domestic water out in an effort to burn less coal. You Axeman/AHS guys are quickly killing your own argument on the efficiency of these things.
My dad used to yell out when we were kids... “Close the damn door, we are not heating the outside”!
Might as well heat all of the Northeast U.S. through a single 2 foot copper pipe while your at it HB and save me some coal here in PA too!

After watching stokerdons YouTube video, I have noticed my ash temp sensor is farther away from the grate and fire bed... and is probably farther than Larry’s also??
I installed mine so I just put it on the first piece of angle iron.. see in the picture, top left..
Just thinking out loud, it’s hard to even compare our ash grate temps due to this..
After doing the procedure Sunday, this morning my ash temp was around 140, really high compared to usual idling, I am considering lowering my setting of 105 down to 100.
Could you guys give me a measure how far your probe is from the bottom of the pot?

Unlike either of you, my probe enters from the tail end of the boiler (the end where the fan resides). It is quite lengthy, and it seems to extend right up to, and perhaps somewhat over, the sled. Seeing as I have both Polycythemia and low blood oxygen, I don't stick my head into a boiler that is running. Also, since my ash pan door is lower in height than either of yours I'm not sure my fat head would go in there to begin with (without getting stuck in there at least). I tried to take a picture with my flip-phone, but it only appears to give clear images at much greater distances. I played a bit with enhancing it, and this is as good as it gets.
The view is looking up, and you can see the ashes sitting at the edge of the sled on the right hand side of the image. The probe (which appears near the top) may extend somewhat into the dark shadow above the ash sled, but it at least goes as far as can be seen in this admittedly blurry image. I have no idea if my probe is a J-Couple or K-Couple.

Caught this just now, my downstairs radiator zone on a heat call, big delta T.
These temps are 10 degrees lower than actual, due to the probes being strapped on the black iron piping. So actual is 197/128.
