Thanks for the photos H.B.!

That is so much more heavy duty looking than my Westfield grain auger it's ridiculous!

As far as it getting to hot goes, check the data plate to see if it is thermally protected. If it is, it will shut off if it gets to hot.

Also, check to see if the gear reduction needs to be lubed. A few drops of oil might be needed for the motor too.

Ya it’s a 110 volt motor... had 220 volts to it...

Oops..... lol

It runs a LOT smoother and cooler now on 110 volts lmao

It says "Split Phase". I believe that means it can be properly wired for either 120VAC or 240/VAC. But at 240VAC it may spin twice as fast.

I thought that also... but I read split phase is for easier starting.

It has a secondary start up winding I guess.

Just glad I didn’t fry the motor! Guy I got it from told me it was 220 volts, MY FAULT for not checking the tag on the dang thing! Lol

I was impressed you have 220v in the boiler building.

Yes it’s a full 100 amp service for the future garage.

No, speed is not referenced to AC input voltage. Same speed for either voltage.
"Split Phase" is how it gets it's "kick start" from zero speed...nothing to do with any voltage options.

That motor very well could run off 240 VAC, most can with the leads configured accordingly.

HB, What protects that motor? Just the panel circuit breaker?

Yes, the all 3 motors on the boiler are protected by the circuit breakers in the panel.

The ash and fan motor are on a 20 amp breaker, and the auger motor is on a 20 amp breaker.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but the ON/OFF switch on the auger motor looks a lot like a standard coal stoker boiler main power switch. If it is, that square thing next to the switch will have a screw in fuse inside to protect the motor.

We got our TT load of 23.5 ton of lehigh pea a little while ago, bulk bin is full, this will get me and my father in law through two winters, bin inside my boiler room is full, auger is in, I lit the eshland last night, heat was on all night, it’s currently 40 here, we’ll see how things go this year, glad to have it back up and running.

You're so lucky!.....I'm still running my central air unfortunately but cooler temps are in the forecast but not enough to light a fire yet

Wow H.B., S is right, give me some of that weather you got up there! It will be months before we see 30 down here. Right now it don't even get much below 70 at night. A/C weather strait into October.

Glad to see your back up and run'in. How do you like the new auger setup???
