What you said was "no air", and my understanding is that literally no air = no combustion.

New reading of 103.7.

1.9 hours of combustion fan.

40-42 pounds in the last 24 hours.

Suppose to be high 40s tomorrow and high 50s Wednesday, I’m anxious to see how the boiler does.

No air through the ash bed. The observation port door opens at idle, it must be getting enough to stay alive from the top. They won't die for days even when shut down. Seems odd because anthracite wants all the air from the bottom. I still think Lucifer himself was involved with designing it.

Did a test today, shut the tstat s off in the house this morning at 6:30am, got home at 4:30pm, and the boiler fan only ran .2/1/2, or 7.5 minutes, that’s 5-6 pounds of coal, so if all else is equal, that is roughly 12 pounds for 24 hours of straight idling and the pump running constant circulation.

Wow!

A match for my 12 lbs. per day minimum consumption.

Very awesome... I use right at 12 lbs per day idling in the summer (idling handles all the DHW we use) and have 1/3 of the BTU's you have. A very impressive machine.

Yes and I’ve got more piping to insulate, all my pex inside the house is open, and so is the plate heat exchanger.

20 pounds per hour of combustion fan is holding very steady!

New reading at 119.6

That’s 17.8 hours of combustion fan.

363 pounds, 51.8 per day.

So now that warmer weather is here, coal consumption has deff dropped. Up until two weeks the coal usage stayed at 20 pounds per hour of fan run time, about two weeks ago, the t stats finally stopped calling for heat so much, it’s just been in the morning hours. So the boiler has been rarely firing. Coal usuage is now 26-30 pounds per hour of fan run time.

4/29/18-5/6/18 I used 264 lbs or 37.7 lbs per day.

Last week 5/6/18- today I used 198 or 28 lbs per day.

I’m very happy so far, like I say the heat is still on quite a bit, it’s actually on right now.

Total so far this season is 12,162 lbs.

I’m goin to burn till I run out, probably another month.

I purchased a coal auger, I just have to set it up and do some repairs to the hopper for next year.

Wow, why do you suppose coal usage against fan run time would vary that much?
