Well I went to just look at an EFM this week. Of course I took my trailer and cash just incase. And what do you know, it followed me home. With all these boiler threads and install videos flying around here I got the bug. So I am now the proud owner of a 1981. It has been refurbed and looks to be in very nice condition. I'm planning the install now. Shopping for fittings, etc. I'll post pics along the way and some videos. Later today Stokerdon is coming by and we are going to fire up the stoker for a little driveway burn just to make sure she's seaworthy.
My Harman boiler has served me well for 14 years and probably would for another 14. But when you get the 14 year itch things must change. So if anyone is thinking about making the jump from a stove to central coal heat PM me. She will soon be available.

Nice Terry. Although you're a tad late, if I remember (that's graspin straws though) it used to be the 7 yr itch!

HA, HA! Payback time!
Your Harman was the first stoker boiler I ever saw in person, many years ago. A month and a half later, I had a Yellow Flame stoker boiler, then a Losch, then a GJ,,, ect...
Here's a video of how an S-20 stoker progresses from lite-off to full fire.

Well CK, after you install & fire up that EFM520,you will no longer ever have to worry about your boiler keeping you warm.
It won't matter how cold it gets outside !
Nice looking unit .

Very nice Terry, very nice.
Gives me something to shoot for here as mine moves along. If I can make mine look half as Purdy as yours, then I will be well pleased.

I'm "ramped up" to move this EFM in the basement Saturday and pull the Harman out. Should be fun. I'll take some pics along the way. Sorry! damn sideways pics again.

It's about time you updated this thread. I was getting worried that you might have gone off the idea.
If we are going to push through all the way to getting the Harman out and setting the EFM in the boiler room, we might even start a little plumbing. I'll bring some plumbing parts just in case.
