I just came across the phone number of a guy on-line who delivers coal with a truck and auger not far from your location...I don't know any more than that, but will get you his number. My thinking is that you could always send him to your choice supplier of bulk pea coal, if it turns out he doesn't know of one doing pea himself. Depending on your street layout and his rig will determine where he can reach to auger off.
If I get his number I will call him about pricing.
Do you have a large bin to handle 4-5 ton load?
Not now but I will before next summer. A 4ft x 4ft x 10ft bin will hold how much pea coal ?? I am thinking of one inside and one outside. The outside one would feed the inside one.
Is there a basement window to run auger through?
Yes there is.
You know the payback on buying and owning a big enough coal hauling trailer is equal to many, many delivery fees.
And with deliveries you never have to buy trailer tags/plates, tires or ever have to cut the grass around it while it's parked there 364 days of the year. Just some more to ponder
I have a trailer now that I haul 2400 lbs of bagged pea coal on but I must unload it by hand one bag at a time. I have found a tandem axle trailer that I can haul 5 or 6 ton at a time of bulk . I also have a stainless steal auger type salt spreader that will unload the pea coal onto a conveyer belt or a flex auger sys.
Thanks again and feel to message me or post any info you have here. I would love to know the cost of delivery and the cost of flex augers so I can decide what way I want to go. Any phone numbers or web sites about flex augers concerning where to buy and pricing would also be very helpful. As will be any info about coal dealers selling pea coal near me
THANKS AGAIN TO YOU ALL!!!

Salt spread auger...what diameter would that be...pea coal may not like to get squeezed thru that?
Flex auger can be priced online at hogslat.com
I would think a 3" size PVC pipe would work best with flex auger and pea coal.
Now you got some homework to do.

Thanks Larry.
I was downloading the videos of the dump trailer and it disappeared!! I can not find your post of the down loads of the trailer. please resend here or tell me when I can get them. I was planning on using the salt spreader to unload the pea coal into a flex auger rater than dump it.

I also want to ask where I can see pics of coal bins and maybe sketches of how they are designed.

However, as CJ warns in that thread, lateral force can be considerable. Here is the effect on a few 2 ton blocks. I should have built better foundations.

You just need to stack them correctly, they are suppose to overlap one another by a half.

and I can trust you will come over and cut those half blocks in the corners. Others have mentioned this and I thought about it --- but no thx.You just need to stack them correctly, they are suppose to overlap one another by a half.
