Not at all.

I pile my ashes up in the woods behind the house. Going to build me a mountain!

For the past 3 seasons, I've been spreading my ashes on the perimeter of my pond in the spring (sprung a leak) and it's working real well. Kinda like old school putting a can of pepper in a leaky radiator! :)

Thanks Fred,

When I was a lot younger we used black pepper and a raw egg.

As for the ashes i am still thinking.

Ashes can go to the curb with weekly trash pickup.

Good idea Larry.

I called my trash company and they will not take coal ashes, no idea why not. I was told ashes are good for a garden and/or yard so in my garden they go this year and maybe by next winter I will find some other use for them.

The hot water is still crossing over from one zone to the other but as the house is warm it is ok for now. I am working on cleaning out the crawl space as I am sure it has to be in there. I will let you all know when I find it. Until then thanks and stay warm.

You could check with the local grass/leaves/bush,tree/trimmings recycle center, it is possible that they might mix it to make a mulch product....

Check with local & state road maintenance authorities as to whether they might use it for an anti-skid product.

Or a friend or neighbor who burns no coal but has a long, steep drive that could use anti-skid.
