I put it in the 45 degree pipe about 12 inches up and 5 inches before the 90 degree elbow. I bent the tubing so it points down stream.coaledsweat wrote: ↑Mon. Dec. 04, 2017 2:05 pmI would go in the middle of the longest pipe. That said, mine is on an elbow where I shove a probe thermometer in the hole when not reading the draft. It isn't critical but the preference is a straight length to obtain a laminar flow (big deal, LOL).
I hooked the rubber tube to the low side of the manometer. It read .03 with the fan running and .02 about 15 minuets after the fan shut down.
When I drilled the hole I noticed a lot of fine light brown ash inside the stove pipe. Is this normal ? Please remember I lit my first coal fire on 11/8/2017 and I still have a lot to learn and I do appreciate all ur help and advice. Could not of got this far with out all of you.
Thanks again!!
