- Stoker Coal Boiler: Gentleman Janitor GJ-5, Van Wert VA-600, Axeman Anderson130 X3.
- Hand Fed Coal Furnace: Harman SF3500 reduced down to 3 grates connected to its own plenum
- Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
- Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood
OK, Finally, after 3 long years, IT'S DONE!!!
After I wire wheeled the ash door, a small hole appeared. The rest of the door is pretty solid even though it had a lot of rust. This shouldn't cause any problems and could be sealed with a little wider door gasket.

Well, today the Small Gentleman Janitor is heading North to it's new home. I will miss it, it is the coolest looking boiler I have had.
I got a very pleasant surprise with this deal. The new owner gave me a jar of Maple Syrup from up North. Real Maple Syrup is a treat because it's kind of rare down here. I will be having French Toast for breakfast every weekend morning for a while!
Thank you Scott!

We did one final video of it. I just realized today that, other than this, we neglected to shoot any video of it after it was painted.I got a very pleasant surprise with this deal. people don't do it as much around here anymore.....when i was in high school i had a friend whose mom made maple syrup every year, they let it cook down on an old coal fired kitchen stove.

Ahh, so there is a connection between good Maple Syrup and Coal!
I just finished my first round of French Toast with it and it was better than I remember it.
Yummm indeed!

My boys are in high school and their friend started making maple syrup in 8th grade. They still all do it together and it is sooo goood! I can't even put it on anything anymore, I just sip it straight from the bottle to savor every taste! Is that wrong? This has not been a very good producing year here in lower Michigan, may only have one more week of collecting the way the forecast looks.....bummer
