The thing that get's me when the power goes down is the refrigerator. It's a "modern" one & even though it's pretty well insulated, it likes to have power every 6 or 7 hours or things start to go south. After much debate I ended up with a gasoline generator.

Oops, this is another of my posts for deletion. I was going to indicate in this post that I had fixed my "amps" post to properly call them "amp hours", but when I went to fix that earlier post in this thread it was no longer fixable. My time limit for fixes was apparently up.

Larry:
For reference, I operated my S130 along with a refrigerator and an upright freezer with a 2000 watt (peak) Honda generator during hurricane Sandy. No, I don't have figures for amp draw, actual power requirements, etc. but I know I didn't max out the generator. I can't remember exact sequencing of operation, starting, etc. but I know I had them all running together for a time. I don't know if this helps, just thought I'd pass it along.

Yes, it is great information. Thanks Tull!Tull wrote:Larry:

Careful now, remember the math doesn't lie.
Sandy's temps were not below zero.

Ah, a virtual handshake for your astute observation yet again kind Sir!McGiever wrote:Careful now, remember the math doesn't lie.

Another consideration is that a generator and an inverter running off of batteries are certainly two different animals.
