Purchasing a Boiler, Opinions and Experiences Please

Stoker Coal Boilers automatically feed the coal and have controls and pumps just like any conventions boiler. They are intended to be used as a primary heat and often have domestic hot water coils as an added bonus. They can be set up independently or in dual sytem with your existing oil/gas boiler. They can accommodate both hot water base board or steam plumbing.

Hi Chris,

Thanks, I may take you up on that offer. You're only ~1:15hrs from my house.
Is this your first season with the KAA-2? How many bags of coal did you go through during some of the cold snaps we had ~0F-10F. I think the size of the KAA-2 is perfect for my application, but if we ever add on to our house it might be cutting it close.

What did the KAA-2 cost?

Thanks,
Jeremy
i go through a bag a day even on the cold snaps it keeps up with the heat demandof the house. I only have my stoker set at 12 turns still could increase 5 more turns so mine has alot more to offer for heat if I need it.

How big is your house? Is it well insulated?

The Losch was made in the Schuylkill Haven area, but they are long out of business. How old do you think it is?
.......................
Another company were making them because I talk to them about 5 years ago.
I don't know how old it is but it's in real good condition.
