Allen burned buck it seemed like it was using a lot to heat 900 Sq of a garage so I bought a stoker mech and converted the Allen to a 520 basically the coil is the newer style 520 one was a fun project and I have more of a range to control with the Allen worked great I have a refurbished Allen stoker and bigger pot with a 16 inch ash ring if anyone interest
Do you think the allen stoker design isn't as efficient as an efm 520? I've been thinking the allen loses air around the fire through the top ring; the steep retort that opens abruptly at the top leads me to think that I'm getting too much excess air in the firebox. I might further modify the one I installed to burn bit for the folks to see if I can improve efficiency. I do like the blower design on the efm's.

Efm has a very good design not so Allen is bad just have more control and can burn rice also I Dn't like the pressure tub going to the worm tub I was also getting a real bad smell in the bucket
