Yepper you did an amazing job resurrecting that old Yellow Flame. I wondered why they called it that until I fired mine off. Then the reason became obvious.

You can put some 1/2 flat on the doors but it doesn't really need it.

Well,,, I got up at 0445 and the fire was out. I guess today will be devoted to figuring out the timer hookup. Up to a foot of snow expected here today! Windchills tonight minus 20!

Timer switches the Burner circuit... But it is best to switch one of the wire also through a high high limit...normally closed switch that opens when too hot...you don,t need more heat.

You can simply hook the switched power from the timer to the ZR terminal in the aquastat. By doing it that way it will run the stoker as long as the boiler is below the high limit setting of the aquastat.

I never let my Yellow Flame idle longer than 15 minutes. With the big firebox and the grates just sitting in the middle you will pull virtually zero air through the grates with natural convection and the fire goes out. Treat it like a stoker stove. No combustion fan running, your fire goes out.

Your going to have to cycle every 15 minutes or so or get the Keystoker conversion fan kit. It's a kit that has you cut a small hole in the combustion fan housing and mount a small blower. It runs continously providing some combustion air so the fire doesn't go out at idle. See this link Keystoker K6 Combustion Blower

I opted to not cut into my combustion blower housing and just stuck pins in my Intermatic c8865 60 minute cycle timer so it cycled the boiler on every 15 minutes. Much easier than cutting holes in perfectly good fan housings.

OK, So, I hooked up the timer. It switches hot to the stoker motor, timer seems to work fine. I don't know if this is normal or not, I don't think it is, when I timed it I got about 12 min off and about 2 min on? Thats a 14 min cycle, that is about what I want! I must have lucked out here, this Honeywell S400 A is twice as fast as it should be! Here are some photos just to be sure I'm not crazy. This is a Honeywell S400 A right?
I have the garage thermostat turned down right now to see how it idels. It seems this timer will work well.

I'm glad it's nasty outside today. The only place I'm go'in is out in the warm garage to tinker with the boiler, the tractor and the snow blower!

When I was shopping for stoker boilers I noticed that extra combustion blower on the later Keystokers. I think that's a very good idea. I would like to try it with this one but, I don't know if I want to cut holes in the cast blower housing yet!

For some reason my timer seems to be cycling at 14 mins?

Free of charge. Just come and pick it up. It is very heavy.

Yes that's the same timer I have, it's supposed to run the stoker every 1/2 hour with the removable plate as shown, once an hour with the plate flipped over.
I don't know if Honeywell made a 1/4 and 1/2 hour timer, I don't think so. Maybe the synchronous motor was changed at some point.

Yah, it looks just like the one in the istructions you sent me. The instructions say it's a 30 min or 1 hour cycle. Go figure?

I just went out and checked on it. maintaining 180 degrees, about 18 PSI and the blowers are blow'in, I don't think the blowers are up to the task. It's zero degrees and windy as heck. I'm very confident that the fire will still be going when I get up tomorrow.
