Open on Rise Clamp on Aqua Stat as a Safety Device?

I discovered the house has a DHW circulator system designed to keep hot water at the far end master bathroom. Currently not being utilized. Any thoughts on scavenging the clamp on, open on rise aqua stat to shut the stoker off if there is ever a serious over temp that the dump zone can't handle?
