Thanks Rob. Looks like there's a few different ones - which one do I need? 10 minute, 30 minute, 1 hour, or 4 hour?

I want the 1 hour one ... it's the cheapest.

Order lots of extra pins! Especially if you get the 1 hour timer!!!

Ahhh ... looks like I just didn't understand how that box worked - I just went down the basement for a second, and the thing kicked on! I thought since it says IDLE FEED RATE on the box, that it'd change the stoker motor speed. All that dial changes is the frequency of stoking. Well that's good! Just saved me a pile of cash.

Still need a way to adjust the feed RATE though ... and blower speed too - can't hurt to have adjustability. Unless there's a way to change that without a variable control?? Doesn't look that way ...

Roger that. If you get the 1 hour timer instead of the 30 minute timer,....you'll need double the number of pins to start with. Not sure how many come with the timers. My 30 minute timer currently has 2 groups of 3 pins. Fires for about 45 seconds every 15 minutes.

Oh I see now - guess I wouldn't need a 1 hour one if stoking every 15. And those pins trip the switch. Makes sense.

Looks like the flow check got hot...did you sweat that male adaptor fitting after it was screwed into the flow check?

Yes ... and prior, I had heated the bottom of it until it was almost glowing to try and loosen that plug - that's why it's no longer green. That damn plug WOULD NOT budge! Took me forever just on that one part. Then I was stressed out the rest of the job, which probably accounted for my crappy soldering.

I need some booze ...

I still have a roll of the old 50% tin 50% lead that's easy to work with.

Now here's a question for you stoker fellas: Without a manufacturer telling you what size coal to burn, could you tell just by looking at the mechanism what size it would handle? Or is it pretty much all inclined stokers burn rice?

Another question: That idle feed device I posted the pic of on the previous page ..... you guys think that those screws at the bottom there are only for a 24v T-stat hookup ... or can you run 120v from the B1 terminal on a 8124 aquastat?

anything that could leak, did. Of course, the minute I lit a wood fire and got those coils red hot, one blew out and hosed me down with scalding water ..

Which coils? I'm confused....

The ones in the Mark III - lit a wood fire in it last night to keep warm.

Not my best work with this here connector pipe, but gotta do what ya gotta do ...

Well fellas, she's off and running! Smokin the hell out of the house right now as the paint burns off ... and a little smoke out the hopper until the fire moved down the grate a bit (started it right on the edge of the air holes). Boy does this sucker CRANK!! Already heated the water up quite a bit - hardly run for 10 minutes now. Have the idle control bypassed for now, just to get the water up to temp. Thought I was going to have an issue with my shitty connector pipe and all those 90° L's ... but now that she's warm, seems to be ok. Gotta rig up another line for the mano - that'll be tomorrow.

Shot some vid of when I first started the stoker and blower. Lit the fire with some charcoal - my first ever stoker firing went very well I must say! Thing is already up to temp and running 3 ZONES at once!! Unbelievable!! Looks like we might actually be comfortable in here for once, and no more running down the stairs for 45 minutes to shake & reload!

No can do 120 volt...it is just for 24 volt TT.
