Was the boiler sitting on the ground or on something to keep it up when it was in the barn? I would remove the jacket and inspect the lower half of it. Look to see if the bottom is rotted or it was damaged in shipping and might be why it was in the basement unused. I see rust around the bottom of the jacket and with it up on blocks a hole in the bottom will let it get all the air it wants thur the ash pit.

Call New Yorker back.Ask to speak to a Field Rep. and don't take No or we don't know for an answer. This situation requires a no nonsense remedy right now. Ask them to direct you to their factory authorized person in your area. You did not speak to the right person at New Yorker.I would think they would want to help afterall it has their name on it. Don't play with this thing. Mike

You might point out to the company,in a certified letter, that you have these concerns about the boiler. Point out that if something happens and you have a fire ,someone will get to the bottom of it and their inaction is not gonna look very good in a court proceeding. Ill just bet someone will show up on your door step within a day of them receiving that letter .In the meantime ,figure out a way around using the thing, its super dangerous.

That blower fan for combustion air should cycle OFF when auqastat is satisfied.

Do you notice it not running ever?

Possible wiring error or defective auqastat will cause firing non stop.
