I had the feed at 2 clicks, air on 3 tried pushing the air up to 4, nothing I do is working and i'm getting frustrated.pleeeease help.

Welcome to the forum. Was your EFM running fine before this load of coal?

Look up from underneath your burn pot and see if the fines cleanout is closed.

Just worked on one with a similar problem. Turned out it was the fan housing. The area around the inside surface of the fan housing was filled with fine house dust. Cleaned out the dust and it runs like new. The owner had been having problems, but it reached a point suddenly where it wouldn't even keep kindling wood mixed with coal burning.

If your coal has a lot of fines, it will require additional air to get a proper burn pattern. It could be as simple as your new load of coal requires more air. But as long as you are troubleshooting....make sure that your auger & pipes are in good shape, and not grinding the coal. You should have 2-4 flights of auger sticking out of the pipe, and the pipes must fit tightly together in the coupler (no gaps). See if the auger flights in the pot are sharp...if so, the auger & pot bushing may need to be replaced.

Chuck,

I'll be headed to Lyons later today. Probably around 2 or 3. Headed to the range, would be glad to try and help.

How did you make out? Sorry, work was busy. How did the burn go after I left? Losing air somewhere, I think a grate.
