Kenny. From a past document:
This motor is factory manufactured to run
in a counter-clockwise direction when viewing
the shaft from the front. Verify that it is running
in a counter-clockwise direction before putting
into use. A reversing switch, located under the
black plug at the bottom of the motor will change
the direction of the motor rotation.

kenny007 wrote:ps What are you boiler temps when sitting after a long 20-30 burn???
It depends on the load. With a cold start up and no load on the boiler, I think mine takes 30-40 minutes to come up to 160 degrees. Just estimating, I have never timed it.

How are things running now?

Hello,
Things sound aok now, guess the rubber was making noise?? Hasnt made a peep since...... :D
Just fine tuning now, just picked up a I-Grill app for my I phone, Comes with 2 sensor... I monitor my
inlet and outlet tempatures from my phone via bluetooth......Yes I am a coal freak :) !!!!
Check it out on web its a geat product--- even makes graphs so you can see temp drops, cyclt times ect

I wonder if that would work with an iMac...I'd love to be able to sit here and watch the boiler temps.

I seem to remember someone saying the old-style slotted crank can't operate at less than four teeth of feed. Regardless, four teeth is a very common setting...why do you want to run less?

There's a good chance you can convert your stoker to the modern feed system. It all depends if you bearing bracket assembly is machined on the end. See this picture for the machined end:

No, I don't think it is either. You should be able to get a good used one from somebody here.

You don't need a shear pin where the auger is connected to the coupling. The coupling connection uses 2 cotter pins. The only shear pin needed is the pin next to the clutch ass'y.

What problem is 4 teeth of feed causing? I feel like I am pulling teeth here...I just want to make sure you aren't trying to correct a different issue by reducing the feed rate.

Hello,
Just would like to try a lower feed rate, with warmer tempatures, when the weather gets cooler increase the rate
I have had no problems so far, Very happy with this boiler, shure beats the had fired I used to have!!!!

Thanks Ken
