- Stoker Coal Boiler: Gentleman Janitor GJ-5, Van Wert VA-600, Axeman Anderson130 X3.
- Hand Fed Coal Furnace: Harman SF3500 reduced down to 3 grates connected to its own plenum
- Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
- Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood
I LOVE the videos T! You should post them to Youtube. I've only seen 1 AA video on there and it's not a 260.
I wasn't expecting to see that big drop header in White! Wow!
Your boro damper looks like it hangs wide open on a long heat call.
Nice!

For some reason I thought I remembered seeing the 260 listed for sale.

That YouTube idea sounds good Don. I think I'll put some up.
I decided I really like the connection I get with my central heat when I use coal. Especially when I see the coal bin full, I listen and watch the boiler and all its components working together, I peek in at the fire pot and hear the roar. It's more like a hobby! The dry basement is a perk too.
And nothing is better than being able to sit and smoke my pipe and reflect on the day's events and relax in front of the Axe, especially during a call for heat.

That's the way I think of it! It's the only hobby I have ever had that pays for itself.Townsend wrote: It's more like a hobby! .
My other hobbies required buckets of money.

Well, I moved to a single family home, so I had to replace the AA260 with an oil burner. Could not afford the time to go maintain coal and ash. Hence, I am selling the ‘locamotive’. It’s uninstalled and ready to load on a truck or trailer. It’s been a great run with it. Warmed my 2 family house without a hitch. Now it’s looking forward to it’s next heating cycles at a new home. Ad is in classified section.
