Sure Steve: pull back on the stick, and the houses get smaller, push forward on the stick, the houses get bigger.
In my 182 in marginal conditions (HA) in my spiral dive I pulled back on the wheel houses got much bigger and I got dizzy.Of course, as a VFR pilot even the worst IMC stuff was just marginal conditions. Then I was young and stupid, now I am old and really stupid.

Yep, if you are in a spiral dive, pulling back on the stick will NOT make the houses smaller.. but that's getting into 'advanced' piloting techniques..

The real trick is to NEVER get into a spiral dive !!

Hey Townsend, isnt' it time for a photo or two of your progress? You know how we love photos here on the forum !!

Greg L

I'm gonna go out to the boiler room and give the aa a pat on the flue..

Coming along on the install. Even though I photographed the take down process a few sections must have got bypassed with the camera. Good thing that young Coaledsweat dropped by for the assist. He's an ace with the tap set as well.

Wow, look at the size of the steam supply pipe !! it looks like the flue for many stoves !!

Keep at it Steve, a little at a time and soon you'll be lighting that match!!

My AA is home alone, both myself and my Caretaker are gone for the weekend, So I expect to see a full or maybe overflowing ash pan on Sunday/Monday.
But, that's what shovels are made for !! Five days in mild ~40-50* weather: maybe the pan won't be overflowing.

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving.

Greg L

Because of that pipe thing looks like a steam locomotive without its wheels in that pic!

Greg, I look forward to the time I can leave the house for a few days and still come back to a warm house and hot fire. And hopefully that time should come soon. I worked out some piping schematics with my steam man and we should be threading pipe in the near future.

Coaledsweat, she does resemble the front end of a steam engine! How fitting.

I didn't notice that untill you mentioned it, but now every time I look at it, it DOES look like a steam locomotive !!

Steve: glad you got a plan in progress, it seems the last hand full of items always take the longest.

Give the dogs a pat and a hug for me.

Greg

That last handful of items also ends up costing more than you expect. Steve, pretty soon you will get the shakes and start to sweat just thinking about another trip to the supply house. :D

Steve, the hat is in the works!

The boiler itself is pretty much completed. Here it is as it sits, waiting for piping and wires.

Steve, are you going to start hooking up the steam piping this week? Did you get the coal hopper designed and set up?

Greg, yes, piping should start at the end of this week. We are getting together Wednesday night to finalize some plans and hopefully begin Thursday or Friday. I'm doing some wiring tonight on it.

As for the bin I'm going to use a temporary affair until I pour the rest of the basement floor with concrete in the spring. Coaledsweat brought over a 275 gallon oil tank. I'm planning on setting that up as bin for this season.
