Thats pretty cool! Is the air wash keeping the glass clean? Anyone burning bit tried this? I'm getting ready to setup a furnace and dancing flames are nice, even if they are yellow

Yes, the air wash I incorporated is performing well No dust is settling on the glass..

Here is my newly installed 520. I bought it a week or so ago for $2000. I'm going to leave the jacket off for a few days to be sure there are no leaks and to see how well it heats my basement. Right now I have it at 4 teeth and 5.5 air. I would also like to paint it before I add the jackets. I'll get some better pics soon

Unless you are burning some very unusual coal or have air leaks, the air setting should be at 4 to 4.5 for 4 teeth of feed.

Mark, thank you very much for sharing. Looks like a first class setup. Keep that stoker clean and well lubed (no gritty gear oil) and it should last you many years.

I really like the coal screen.

No problem at all! The previous owner kept records of when it was cleaned and oiled dating back to 2000 when he inherited the house from his aunt and uncle. It was lubed every month and cleaned at least once a year. He was very specific with me as to what to use to oil/grease it and what gear oil to use. He put that screen on there because he was concerned with sticks or other things getting into the furnace that shouldn't be in there. Great preventative measure. It's little things like that that give me great confidence in this stoker. And, as an added bonus, my wallet is a little fatter

I am considering replacing the steel barrel with a plastic one with a lid that seals because if the coal gets down to about halfway in the barrel, some of the sulfur fumes and smoke leak back up through the coal. It's not terrible, but it's enough to raise my concern. I browsed through here for some recommendations, and that seams to be the consensus (to put a good sealing lid on the steel one or replace with a plastic one with a good sealing lid). The other option is to run the worm directly into the bin, but that's not an option for me since the bin is too far from the stoker. Otherwise, this furnace is fantastic!

This is my Burnahm heating machine! Installed in a separate utility room from my house. It heats 4 bedrooms and a 2 car garage.
Anyone want to take a guess at its age? .... I have no idea!

My guess is late teens maybe really early 20s could be a tiny bit older
